Revelation 2:17

The name for Whitestone originated in our study of Revelation 2:17, in which the Spirit says, “To those who prevail I will give a white stone, and on the stone a new name is written which no one knows except God, and he or she who receives it.” At the time this was revealed to the churches, there were two prevailing images associated with the gift of a white stone: (1) in the legal system, jurors, in assessing innocence or guilt, placed a black stone in the basket for conviction, and a white stone for vindication.  (2) White stones, with the name of the intended guest written on them, were also used as invitations to special celebrations.  It was with both of these images in mind that the name of Whitestone was chosen for our Counseling and Assessment Center, as we believe that God is active in the lives of His people and a part of everything we do.
